Most of the contents on this page will be forthcoming events so you should check this page on a regular basis in order that you don't miss the latest events and to read a web version of the latest newsletter.
To say that I am a bit behind with the updates this time around is stretching things a bit far? Most of the time lost was down to the sudden demise of my last computer so not all the delay has been under my control. Again I can only apologies to those members who have not yet received a mention.
Creating a full list of all test passes will take a while but I will add a link here shortly.
Training Suspension Dates
Walsall Council have just informed me (Monday 5 May) that this year they will be suspending all Club activities held at the Airport on Event days. This means the Aldridge and District Dog Training Club will not be allowed to train on the following Sundays:
The Club apologies for any inconvenience this may cause to its members and will be looking into the possibility of alternative arrangements. If any member has any suggestions the committee will be more than willing to consider them.
Photo Competition.
The photographs from the last competition will remain until we run the next one just so the members can show off their dogs for a little longer, but we should be holding another competition shortly. I have kept both versions of the album, a popup version (click here) to view or for those that have difficulty controlling their mouse or just find the whole thing annoying a (clickable) version.
Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Courses
The Club is still running puppy foundation courses but as with normal membership spaces are very limited, in fact I suggest prospective puppy owners make enquiries as soon as they have made firm arrangements to collect their puppy. Whilst on the subject of membership and for those that are thinking of becoming new members, our waiting list now runs into September! I know this seems ridiculous but when people join the Club we have great difficulty getting them to leave?
Bronze Silver and Gold Tests
Would all members who have not taken their bronze Silver or Gold levels in the Good Citizen Scheme please contact me with your details, the bronze test is not a difficult one and anyone from 'B' class upwards should not have any problems.
Those wishing to take the other levels should be honest about their standards and if in doubt talk to their trainer who will give them all the assistance required. Again I will remind all members that I can only arrange tests if I have been given the names and addresses of those wishing to take part and there are sufficient numbers to justify the examiners time.
Training Area
The training area has improved slightly (instead of lumpy mud we now have lumpy grass) but it is still in an awful state and there is very little we can do to change this. I shall keep the pictures on the web for the time being, these can be seen by clicking on this link. I can only ask all members to bear with us during this difficult time and
to take extreme care when training. For the benefit of those that do not know the training area there is still a large area undamaged.
